About
My
first visit to Crete led to additional exploratory trips nearly every
year since. It also led me to concentrated study of both its history and
the creative writing skills required to craft the stories of this trilogy.
I enrolled in formal and independent study courses in the Classics Department of the University of Kentucky and in 2002 participated in an on-site course on The Archaeology of Ancient Greece taught by Professors John Younger and Paul Rehak of Kansas University (see photos from trip).
To strengthen my skills as a writer of fiction, I have studied creative
writing with Kim Edwards (The Memory Keeper’s Daughter),
Lynn Prewitt (Ruby River) and Neil Chethik (VoiceMale and
Father Loss) among others. This website is about my new career.
